Has ASUU Called Off Strike 2025?
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called off its two-week warning strike.
The union has stated that the strike will remain suspended for 1 month for the Federal government to address all pending demands.
When Will ASUU Call Off Strike 2025?
ASUU will call off 2025 strike on 22nd October 2025.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced October 22, 2025, as the official date to call off its 2025 warning industrial strike action.
This means that ASUU strike will end on 22nd October 2025.

However, if the Federal Government fails to meet ASUU’s demands, the strike will not be called off and will remain indefinite.
ASUU 2025 Demands
The union listed its major demands to include:
- Re-negotiation of the 2009 ASUU-FGN Agreement
- Sustainable funding of public universities
- Revitalisation of Nigerian universities
- An end to the alleged victimisation of ASUU members in LASU, KSU and FUTO
- Payment of outstanding 25–35% salary arrears
- Settlement of promotion arrears spanning over four years
- Remittance of outstanding third-party deductions
