The University of Uyo has appointed Professor Christopher Ekong as its new Vice Chancellor.
The appointment was announced by the Registrar, Blossom Okorie, following a rigorous and transparent selection process.
According to the university, the process involved reviewing applications, assessing credentials, and engaging shortlisted candidates.
Professor Ekong was selected based on his academic excellence, administrative experience, and leadership qualities.
He is set to assume office as the 9th substantive Vice Chancellor on June 16, 2026.
Before this appointment, he served in key roles within the university, including as Chairman of the Committee of Deans.
