The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has officially appointed Professor Francisca Bassey as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the institution.
This announcement was approved by the Executive Governor of Cross River State and Visitor to the university, His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu.
According to a press release signed by Prof. A. Owan Enoh, the Secretary to the State Government, the appointment takes immediate effect and is based on the recommendations of the University Governing Council after a transparent and rigorous selection process.
Professor Francisca Bassey is a well-respected academic and seasoned administrator with a track record of excellence.
She brings to the role a wealth of experience, integrity, and a deep commitment to advancing higher education.
Governor Otu has expressed full support for Professor Bassey and congratulated her on her well-earned elevation.
He has also tasked her with providing visionary leadership that will reposition UNICROSS as a centre of academic excellence and innovation.
