• University of Ibadan (UI) has started uploading names of qualified candidates to the 2025/2026 Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) Portal.
• This list contains names of qualified UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates offered admission into various undergraduate programmes such as Law, Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Accounting, etc.
• JAMB will only offer you admission after UI has recommended your name on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
• UI admission outside the 2025 JAMB CAPS Portal is illegal

There are five (5) types of admission lists in University of Ibadan (UI), namely:

1. UI Merit Admission List 2025/2026

UI Merit admission list is also known as UI First Batch Admission list, and it contains the names of candidates with the highest JAMB and departmental aggregate score.

2. UI Second, Third Batch and Supplementary admission list 2025

UI second, third, and supplementary admission lists contain names of candidates who:

• Did not upload their O’Level results early
• Did not meet UI merit cut-off mark
• Were narrowly omitted during the first batch of admissions
• Have been offered admission through VC list

3. UI VC admission list 2025/2026

During the 2025 JAMB Policy Meeting, JAMB stated that VC Admission list is illegal but still operational in Nigeria.

However, before any university can use the 10% exemption mode, it must first admit 90% of students through the standard admission process.

This means that UI VC Admission List is usually the last to be released.

If you’re expecting your name to appear on the 2025 UI VC admission list, you must wait until the university has completed admitting candidates who merited it based on JAMB and Post-UTME performance.

What to do after Accepting 2025 UI Admission

After accepting your 2025 UI admission on JAMB CAPS portal and confirming your name on UI undergraduate admission portal, here are the next important steps to take:

1. First, confirm your name on UI 2025 JAMB Matriculation list
2. Proceed to pay UI 2025 admission acceptance fee online or at designated banks.
3. Print and download your 2025 UI and JAMB admission letter online
4. Secure an accommodation (Either pay for a bed space in the school hostel (if available) or get an off-campus accommodation early enough)
5. Get all 2025 UI physical screening documents ready. These include: Original JAMB result slip, UI Post UTME registration slip, Birth certificate or age declaration, Certificate of origin, Attestation or reference letters, JAMB/UI admission letter.
6. Log in to UI student portal to generate your fee payment invoice and pay your school fees either online or through the bank.
7. Visit your department and faculty for physical screening, and then proceed to register for first and second semester courses online.
8. Once your registration is complete, start attending lectures.
