The Federal Government has announced that NECO will begin computer-based examinations this year.
Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, disclosed this during NECO’s 25th anniversary celebration in Abuja.
According to him, the new system is aimed at reducing examination malpractice and improving the credibility of Nigeria’s examination process.
Alausa said the computer-based format would allow real-time monitoring of candidates and help track suspicious activities during exams.
He added that the reform would align Nigeria’s assessment system with global standards and modern educational practices.
NECO Registrar, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, also revealed that the examination body now conducts exams in eight countries.
The council said it has introduced several digital reforms, including e-certificates, online verification systems, and improved examination security.
