President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
He will succeed Professor Is-haq Oloyede, whose tenure is expected to end on July 31, 2026.
Professor Aina is a Computer Engineering expert and lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
He studied at the University of Kent and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, where he obtained degrees in Computer Systems Engineering, Internet Computing, Network Security, and Digital Signal Processing.
The new JAMB Registrar previously worked with JAMB during his NYSC and has also served as a consultant to examination bodies, including NECO and NABTEB.
At 39, he became one of Nigeria’s youngest professors in Computer Engineering and is now set to become the youngest registrar in JAMB’s history.
President Tinubu said he expects Professor Aina to build on the reforms and achievements recorded under the outgoing registrar.
