- UNICAL has started uploading names of qualified candidates to the 2026/2027 Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
- The uploading of UNICAL admission list is done in batches. So far, admission list for Law, Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, and Accounting have been uploaded, and the process is still ongoing.
- Please note that JAMB will only offer you admission after UNICAL has recommended your name on JAMB CAPS Portal.
- Any UNICAL admission offered or accepted outside JAMB CAPS portal is illegal.

- Go to UNICAL admission checker portal at www.portal.jamb.gov.ng or portal.unical.edu.ng.

UNICAL usually release five (5) admission lists, namely:

1. UNICAL First Batch Admission List
UNICAL Merit admission list, also known as UNICAL First Batch Admission list contains the names of candidates with the highest JAMB and Post UTME aggregate scores.
2. UNICAL Second Batch Admission List
UNICAL second, third, and supplementary admission lists contain the names of candidates who:
- Did not upload their O’Level results early
- Did not meet UNICAL merit cut-off mark
- Narrowly omitted during the first batch of admission
- Have been offered admission through VC list
3. UNICAL VC admission list
During the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting, JAMB stated that VC Admission list is illegal but still operational in Nigeria.
However, before any university can use the 10% exemption mode, it must first admit 90% of students through the standard admission process.
This means that UNICAL VC Admission List is usually the last to be released.

- Secure an accommodation (Either pay for a bed space in the school hostel (if available) or get an off-campus accommodation early enough)
